Because Text

I have discovered something rather normal about my educational life.

And that is the following - I have no imagination.

I can't sit down and plan out what I want to do when it comes to designing shit. Here's two perfect example, set in some rather boring paragraphs.

For university, I have two assignments. The first one asks me to create a 20-30 second title sequence that involves 3D animation, and another asking me to film something and add effects in to it, either simple shit like when someone reads a text on Sherlock or when shit gets real in Harry Potter. And no, I'm not using those examples to gain readers. If I did, I'd state that I'd need to add reason to Justin Bieber's music.

But the thing is, I have no idea what I'm doing. I know what to do technique wise, but for the actual content side of things? Fuck. I'm dead inside. Nothing but soulless examples of the chances of my failing this year increases each day.

Any idea I do have, though, ends up being balls-breakingly difficult or extremely costly. I wanted to do something for the 3D assignment where a sphere falls and breaks on the floor, then the camera focusing to the logo of a news programme. But apparently, you need a plug-in for that, one that costs over £200. Curse you, nameless plug-in.

I'm also kind of dreading my mark for Sound Technology. It's just dawned on me, that module is a smaller manifestation of my entire mathematical life. When I was younger, I was really good at maths. I was almost always in the top ten percent in my year. But with each year passing, I started to progressively worsen. From high 80%s in year seven to barely scratching 55%s in my GCSE year.

It's not that I found the work difficult, it's not. I've always liked maths, and always understood everything I was told, but apparently I can't put it into practice on the examination field.

The same with Sound Tech. If someone asked me to help them set up a Z5 so they could record audio using a boom, I could help them no problem. If they need help editing the audio and making it sound unedited, I could help. But there's always a little thing that someone finds wrong in your work, whether it's an ill-explained reasoning why x is 3 or a misplaced fade out.

It's not a nerve thing, before anyone thinks that. I have never sat down before doing an exam or an assignment and thinking oh shit, I know nothing of what I need to do to pass, shit. I've never done that. When everyone around me was revising the differences between Lithium, Sodium, Magnesium and Potassium while wailing I suck at life, I'll prepare for a life of mediocrity because I don't know which elements have D-orbitals, I was just sitting there, looking over my notes while listening to some Bob Marley.

Am I just a naive idiot? One who thinks he knows his stuff but it turns out that he's just a mediocre wanker with no reason to live other than to siphon light from everyone? I don't know, but that sounds extremely sad, so to happy things up, here's a picture of a hairless cat playing a double bass.

Baaaaaaaaaaaase.
Now, in other news, I'm still alive. I've done what feels like fuck all in every aspect of my life. It feels like I'm doing fuck all with university work, and everything in work is just time consuming (not that I'm complaining about work, it's possibly one of the best things to happen to me since my introduction to Final Fantasy X, and that just shows how much of an arsehole I am).

In other, unrelated news, I'm (still) doing my CLICvlogs as part of my university work. And you know what? I really like doing them. Recently, I've kind of lost faith in them, since we've done nine or so of them and nobody was interested in being a part of it, so it was turning out to being one man and his two vlogs. And if you have no idea what I'm on about, here be link to CLICvlog, and here's another YouTube link.

But yeah, for some reason unknown to me, the past few ones have been really fun to film and edit. Maybe it's because I also filmed a vlog for Sam where he calls Jesus an attention seeker, or maybe it's the most recent one, but they've suddenly become really fun for me. I'm not saying that they were getting boring, but I'm saying that CLICvlog is starting to fulfill one of its primary aims, which is to allow young people to share their views. Yes, CLIC is there for the textual side, and CLICplay is there for video, I just thought that it was a thing to get people who are part of CLIC to join together and create something that (hopefully) everyone would at least watch one or two from time to time.

And all that from a shit idea for a university assignment. I need a life. Pity that won't be happening since I just bought Pokemon Black and Mass Effect 2. Yeah, that's right. Fear my lack of sociability in the next few months.

In other news, I'm done. And I believe my dinner is too. I shall go get it, then come back upstairs to eat it in my room alone. Maybe someday I'll write a shitty Dear World about my relationship with food. Because everyone loves reading everything I say. I'm so awesome.

- Just in case you didn't get the last bit, that was sarcasm. Also, FIN. Why do I still write FIN at the end of these? Who knows, maybe I'll get sponsored by some FIN compony or something. Also, please say I'm not the only one who saw that picture and instantly thought of the last scene of Portal 2?

Can Anybody Tell Me What To Do?

Today is Friday. Well, for me it is anyway. Maybe in some area in the world it still may be Thursday, or even levelled up to Saturday. But for me, it is a Friday.

So, what is so significant about this Friday?

Nothing really.

Well, not for me.

For others, for example a handful of my friends, it's their last chance for them to prepare themselves on their journey to their university. But then again, some may have already gone to their educational destination, while others have to wait longer until they can move in to their accommodation.

Nevertheless, its the last days of preparation until the day that university starts. And I'm nearly ready. I have my student railcard (that doubles up as a discount card) thanks to NatWest. According to Student Finance, my course is ready to be paid for. And luckily for me, that is nearly it. Have to get some things, yeah. But then again, compared to what other people need to get, I'm sorted, thanks to the fact that I'm living at home. And that'll save me money in the long run. Even if I travel on the train everyday, I'd still be spending roughly half as much as someone who'll be paying for accommodation and food. That's the advantages of living at home. =].

In other news now, and I have decided that I would like to be in three different bands.

Why three? Well, to cut a long story short, I can 'play' three instruments. The bass guitar, the guitar and the drums. Okay, most guitarists can move to the bass guitar with relative ease, but the bass was my first instrument I learned (if you ignore the fact that I learned bass songs on my sister's acoustic guitar as I waited for Christmas for a bass).

But, for some reason, the first instrument I played on in front of a crowd (ie, more than twenty people) was the drums during the school Eisteddfod (yeah, the one where I lost a drumstick halfway through the song). I have no idea how or why that was the case. Well, that was a bit of a lie, I know why it was the case, since the drummer who was supposed to play couldn't do it for some reason (I forgotten the reason), and they asked me to go from playing the bass to playing the drums for the song, and they got a new 'bassist' instead.

It has only been recently that I've played bass in front of people, during Jam Night up in the Bush Inn somewhere in Church Village or wherever it is (someone correct me on this. =]). The most recent one was last night, when we played a five-song set. Certainly that was the longest I've played, even though it was a mere half an hour (roughly). But I made so many howlers during that setlist (I feel odd calling it a setlist for some reason...) compared to the two times I played drums in front of people. But I guess the numerous cock-ups will lessen as I improve my playing. And I'm guessing that'll take a long time.

To be fair, I know my guitar playing is well below par. I mean, it has only been recently that I could manage to play the C major chord. I thought it was supposed to be one of the easiest chords to play, and I found it hard. I still do. And don't get me started on barre chords. I am shite at them tenfold. So why do I want to be in a band as a guitarist? Well, I'm not sure to be honest with you, maybe as a rhythm guitarist?...

But yeah, I'd like to start (or be involved with) three bands with three different instruments, but in different genres too. Not sure what genre to what instrument though. I'll have to work on that.

But alas. I shall release your eyes from the hypnosis, known to many as my blog, and allow you to carry on with your day. I will keep you up to date once I begin university.

=].

Diweddglo

So yeah, this is either the final or the final-but-one post of the year (hence Diweddglo being the title - which means something like to finish off... correct me if I'm wrong, Welshies...).

It's another year... wasted really...

Or was it?

To be fair, I have no clue. I'm not sure what to consider a waste or not. Is reading through countless blogs about design inspiration a waste of time? I don't know...

Well, here are the facts.

First off, I've gotten much better at playing the bass. I would say, well type, that I've improved a shedload since this point last year. I can actually play slap bass alright, maybe in the middle on the scale of awsomeness. I've ditched the pick also... sort of. I still need it to play fast songs like Hysteria (yeah, I know it's actually like eighty-nine beats per minute, but I can't fingerpick it at all), but on the whole, I've learned, at least the basics of, three bass playing techniques. So I suppose that time staying in my room with the bass wasn't such a total loss. Hehe.

But, on the bad side to that, I've still got next to no knowledge on theory. No clue whatsoever. I can only recognise the major scale (well, and the bebop, but that's because I use that constantly in the songs I made up... ah that too...). Only recently I actually understood the pentatonic scale and positions (I think...). Also, I've learned no more chords for the guitar. Woop for me. So guitar-wise, it has been a waste really. But then again, I only really want to learn enough to be a rhythm guitarist (y'know, just keep the rhythm and that shaite, well what the bass does then...).

The 'ah, that too...' thing I wrote in the last praragraph. I've written a hand-and-a-half-ful of songs. Even though most of them are songs-to-be. Only three or so are full blown songs, either finished or nearly finished. The thing is, they are totally different from each other...

The first one, which I called Acoustication is, well... an acoustic song. I think I've said about it before, because I remember writing that I feel that it sounds too middle-of-the-road-like. It's also got the only guitar solo that I can actually play. So yeah, that shows the dificulty of the song. Not only that, it's got a piano in it. Look at me, with the use of different instruments. =). It's about two and a half minutes long... though I might need someone's guiding hand with polishing it and that.

Second one is (for now) called Rather Scene. Balls. I tried to make a rock song, but ended up writing more like a emo-scene song. Not intentionally, I might add. Also, this and the previous song seems predictable. Y'know, even if it's the first time you heard it, you could still guess what would come up. Anyroad.

I'm halfway writing two bass things too. I wouldn't call them solos, so I won't. They are both slap bass. One is an intro idea to an album (well, we can all dream...) and the other would probably would just be a dud.

Sorry about the blabbering on... =).

I think my blogwriting's back.

LUCKY YOU.

Ahoyhoy, one thing I know I've wasted time on is... yeah, Guitar Hero. You know when you've wasted your life when you've four-starred Raining Blood, got your first FC on drums, guitar and bass (that would be Plug In Baby by Muse, which is on GH5) and, not only that, started singing also! Shit! I can't sing!...

Can I?

Obvliously, the answer is no. There's a reason why I write blogs. Nobody really wants to hear my voice. And anycaboodle, five-starring songs on hard vocals doesn't mean you can sing. It just means you've played on that song too many times.

*Insert extreme smilie face here*.

Anyboom. Schoolwise, I'd say I've prooved myself to be a failure of sorts. Maybe thinking too much about death and that shizz made me wonder if there was a point in studying for a place in Uni was worth it. I don't know. I believe my mindset's changed, well at least in the working stakes. I felt like utter shit, looking at my two D's and a C in my AS's. I felt people were laughing at me after I got kicked out of Art. To be fair, I don't care about that now. I'm not even bothered if people are better than me in Chemistry, Physics or Music Tech. As long as there is something I'm better than them at, I don't mind.

I say that, meaning that as long as I have some worth, like I'm not second best at everything. So people might come up to me asking about something. I know, who's ever going to ask me how to change the colour of someone's eyes in PhotoShop or how to do legspin in cricket? Eh, yeah...

Talking about PhotoShop, I'd like your opinion.

Y'know that logo idea and web design I showed you some posts ago? Well, I did a redesign. If you don't mind, could you critique them? =).

This is the webdesign...

Wicid Web Design Attempt Two

... and this is the background I made for it...

Background For Second Web Design

The logo I used is exactly the same as I made in the other post. But if they decide to change the logo, I'll ask for a .png file of it and then do more designs.

And that's really it. Not much done this year. I've thaught way too much also, and don't you know it.

So yeah, just to make this longer (not really, I just haven't got anything else to do, so I'm just writing what I'm thinking...), predictions for next year (well, more like hopes).

1 - I will get two B's and a C in my exams, thus being accepted by Swansea Metrepolitain for Interactive Media Design.
2 - I'll start a band, or at least work with a lyricist/songwriters. Writing with other people should be fun...
3 - Dare I say it?... Could there be someone special during Two Thousand and Ten? I hope so, but I highly doubt it...
4 - Hopefully, will keep in contact with the school people that I actually like talking to. Shall be easier and harder once in uni... well once school's over.

So yeah. Bring on Two Thousand and Ten.

NEVER TWENTYTEN. Fuck off with the coupling number shite....

Anyways...

- Happy birthday World... Gareth says FIN.

Forever In Debt To Your Priceless Advice.

Well hello there. Again.

I've just had a comment on one of my videos... and I, and I quote, 'ruined a perfectly good song', while addind 'ur gay'.

Happy days, eh?

Anybeatle, how is thou today?

Well, I'm just struggling to understand why everyone seems to be interested about Tiger Woods' private life. So what if he had affairs? It doesn't mean that the world has to grind to a hault just because he got his balls in the deep stuff (one of the many golf related innuendos that I have heard).

Not only that, the logo designers have even gotten onto the bandwaggon.

Look...

I dunno why, but even though I found that image rather funny, I found it a tad harsh. I mean, get off his back. There are other peole in the world who've done so much worse. Jesus man, it's a shite world when Tiger Woods and his affairs beats a death of a soldier in the Afgan war as the top story in the news...

So yeah. In other news. I've discovered that I should never attend another party. Ever.

Why? Because every one I've been to (well, the three I've been to), I've done the same thing, which is sit (or stand, for the first one) around doing nothing of worth. At least in the most recent one (which was Gazzard's birthday party, and also happy birthday for today dude!). I just felt like a prick, just sitting there. Yep, I'm have problems being social full stop. =).

Like today, Lowri (my sister, who's studying BA Acting in Trinity Collage in Carmarthen) came home for the weekend. We had dinner downstairs. I just felt pissing awkward. I mean, everyone (well, my parents and Lowri) were talking about something, and all I did was look down at the floor, trying to eat my food as fast as I can. I mean, how sad is that?... That's a reason why I ain't looking forward to University life...

In other news, I've started doing the one thing I haven't done on Guitar Hero... sing. And, is being able to do a song on Hard any good? Even though if it's a real simple song?..... =).

Also, I've been making some basslines on... well... my bass. I keep doing slap bass though. So that means, like my latest song that I came up with also states, if I write anymore slap bass songs then I'll need to get a new thumb. Thing is, they kind of sound the same as every other bass thing that I've done. Lord, have mercy if I actually record these songs.

I'm going to bugger off now.

Goodbye.

Oh, How I Want To Break Free

I've kind of shocked myself today.

I've known of Queen for, well, all my life. One of the first memories I have is watching their music videos on a compilation video that they released. The one's that stuck out mainly are classics such as Breakthru, I'm Going Slightly Mad and (my all time favourite Queen song) The Invisible Man. I've heard most of their discography, not all unfortunately. And, for some bizzare reason, it's only recently that I've understood how amazing the music actually is.

I've always known Freddie Mercury was an amazing singer and performer, but I've never really gone past his voice. Only once I started to learn the bass songs had I realised how great John Deacon was in the band, and Roger Taylor's drummage also. And only yesterday had I realised that Brian May actually wrote some of the classics such as Who Wants To Live Forever and I Want It All. Jeez, no wonder they've influenced Muse and others...

Crickey.

Pity I cannot find the bass tab for The Invisible Man... =(.

Anyroad, here's a weird video for you to watch, like an interlude for the next part. Epic song, dude....

Anyfriedchicken, I'm starting to want to redo cricket now... and have good ability in video editing. Why must I like such different activities? Ah well.

So yeah, today's been a Queen day, and it's never a bad day when it's Queen day (apart from one thing, which will happen everyday there's school, but hey, what can I do?...). Also, I've discovered that I can play Hysteria's bassline without looking. That shows improvement, or overplayment. =).

Er, nothing else to add. Not going to bore you with my life story... yet.

- I can't think of a creative way to sign off, apart from saying that I haven't got a creative way to sign off, also... FIN.

Enter Sandman.

This isn't a post of any significance really. It's like ten to midnight, and I should be getting to sleep soon.

Luckily, it's a Friday, and I don't have to wake up early for school tomorrow.

Mozzeltoff.

So, as I type up this post, BBC2's unleashing its boredom onto me. And I'm passing on my boredom to you. Ah, c'est la vie...

So yeah, there's been a few parties that I've had the fortune to miss and the misfortune to listen to how 'epic that nite waz'. By the by, most likely if I type in that textspeak and talk about partying... eleven times out of seven, it won't be me. Anykestril, as I typed (or said, whatever tickles your pickle), I've missed all of them. Woo. One person keeps nagging me about why. Maybe, just maybe, that there can be some people on this world who don't find slowly killing yourself while at the same time making a total arse of yourself not as orgasm-creating as others do. Also, how does the fact that I don't drink lower the chances of - and I quote - 'you getting vagina?'... So apparently, you have to get pissed to begin a relationship, it doesn't matter if the opposite sex likes you or not.... Ah, how pathetic that arguement is... and that's a mini-rant. Or Mint... if you will.

Talking about mints... I baught two packs o' SoftMints today. Well good.

So yeah, again my plague of writing songs too similar to well known songs has happened. I think I've said about the one that sounds like Hysteria by Muse. Now I've made one that sounds like the song I'm recording for Music Technology (that's Today by Smashing Pumpkins). Damn this brain.

But hey, I believe my bass skillage's improving. I can now play a handful of bass songs by Muse. Woop woop and an extra dosage of wehey for the road. The most recent song I've learned is Supermassive Black Hole. Yeah, it's not hard... comparing to other bass songs... but who cares? I'm getting better... I hope. =].

I really can't think of anything really.

Apart from kestrils.

No idea why.

I've got kestrils on the brain.

Ah well, must dash... I'm yawning like someone who yawns alot.

Oh, imaginative way to finish your post, Ga... What's next?

Er.... this...

Perfection Needs A Touch Of Madness.

...Unfortunately, I'm not mad enough. Ah well.

So, five days since my last post. Oh, how words of profanity will be muttered at my blog. Whatever that's supposed to mean, I'll leave that to your mind...

Well, what has happened in the past few days?

I shall tell you....

Fuck all, that's what.

Nah, I kid. I kid.

But nothing really happened, so was I kidding about nothing happening, or was I kidding about kidding about nothing happening? I'll let that stew in your brain for a second, Done? Good. Onwards and downwards (since, y'know... you scroll down to read a blog, eh?....).

Tuesday weren't bad, like. I have to record the drums again because the first Fostex (the multitrack recorder) broke, but then I recorded both acoustic guitar and the bass, so I'm more or less half way there, and with the added help from other people to record the harp, the piano and the vocals... all I need now is a violinist... or something like that. Not bad.

Nothing real major happened, apart from my EMA coming through. Fuck aye.

Not only that, I am getting the bass guitar for my birthday. THREE HUZZA'S AND A PACKET OF JAMMIE DODGERS FOR EVERYONE! Yeah, I got it from eBay, but to be fair, it's like-new anyways. Woop.

And, y'know that poem I have to make music to? Well it's changed once again. All thanks to Muse, this time. Y'know the song Hysteria? It reminds me of that. Rather annoying, since it does have a close resemblance to Muse's hit. So I'm slightly buggered-with-a-extra-dose-of-shaite then. Great.

Oh yeah, and to add to that, X-Factor's gone all vote-for-me-or-I'll-eat-your-gran's-heating-system on us. And, I only saw a third of one person's performance. The dude with a wicked afro, he was singing T-Rex's Get It On, and to be fair, he was good. The background music was shaite. They tried to balls up the song, and failed. Miserably.

Ah well. That was the few insights of the past few days. Never realised how many times I could actually have the word few in a paragraph. I guess there would be a few more. Maybe. Anyways. Ah, only three few's after all... well, technically four, since I said 'three few's', meaning the three few's I said and the extra few after... now it's more than four few's... it's like eight few's...

Shite... nine of the little blighters... who'd thaught it?

Ah yeah, forgotted about somet'ing.

This...

Colourful Web Design.Com

It's a web design. It's the most colourfullest one I've done so far.

So yeah, tell's me what ya t'ink if you feel like sharing your opinions, bruv.

And, before I go...

What do you think of the new Doctor Who logo?

Post 2.... Plus 45.

Yeah, I've overplayed Song 2 on drums (97% on Expert drums, fuck aye with a coating of loneliness).

So, how are you these days? Any good?

Well, it's the weekend, and nearly the end of September. Well, there's a week left sort of, but meh. October will be less Rocktober, more (being a)Cocktober. Don't ask why, simply 'cause I don't know yet. Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner, that I love London so.... Sorry, broke into random singage there. Pity that I can't sing. When I do I just sound like a ten year old boy whose recently been told that Santa isn't real (disclaimer, believe what you want on this debate, I think he's a bit like Jesus... or maybe is Jesus... that'll be a turn up for the books, ya?), high pitched, shakey and with a hint of unnatural decay. Or something or nothing.

Besides, I know this because I tried to see if my microphone (from Gutar Hero World Tour... don't hate me) worked on my laptop (even though it doesn't work on any Guitar Hero game now). I opened up a program (oh, a slight hint of mistery there... what in God's unknown name is it?) and I recorded like, twenty seconds of myself. All I can say is this... there's a reason why I stay home and blog my life away. I've noticed how feeble my voice sounds. How cheesily annoying it is. Ha, I thaught my voice sounded high to me, but then that recording... thank Bill Gates for the creation of the Recycle Bin (on PC's, anyways).

So yeah, the mic works fine on my laptop, yet not at all on Guitar Hero. Explain?

Nah, you don't have to.

But yes, this is my fourty-seventh blog post. Fancy getting me a present once I hit the big five-ough? Nah, you don't have to... but an e-cookie would be nice... =).

And, thanks to sone of my friends who keeps reminding me on how far away her birthday is, I know how far my birthday is... sadly. In five weeks. Joy. I've tried to make sure that nobody remembers my birthday, for many reasons. The main one is because it's just another day to me. Simple as. I mean, I don't have a celebration for when I turn one month older, did I? I'm not going to celebrate the fact I'm seventeen and eleven months next month, eh? So why bother celebrating an annual thing? Yeah, I thaught nobody'll understand this... so anyways.

I'm going to apollogise for the, lets just say, the injection of the drug known to us as patheticilin that has entered my blogging system. For some reason my mind has not allowed me to see anything apart from death, sadness and playing Sultains Of Swing on Guitar Hero. But yeah, sorry bruv. =).

In other news. I've got myself a new blues thing going on on the bass. And it uses slap techniques. Fuck aye. Also, I learned a new scale. Yeah, no prize for guessing which one (yeah, 'tis the blues scale). Well, I think I've learned that scale. At least on the bass I have. Ah well, that's four out of only enter-name-of-your-religious-being-here knows.

Meh, I think I should end it here. The post, I mean.

Is it just me, or are my posts becoming shorter? Well, I suppose that's good news for you, you can now watch the X Factor for the seventeenth time in the matter of two days thanks to the joys of ITV.

Anydice. Bye bye, ye olde companion of thy journey to bloggage paradise.

Fuck It, I'm Off To Prague...

No idea where the title came from. I just thaught of it when I was looking at a blog that showed the best designs for a live CD cover, or something like that. Man, if only I can write lyrics... well, if only I could bloody play anything good...

If you didn't know, tomorrow is the joyous day of A level results day. It is also the day the half-lifes get their results (that is, the AS'ers... if only there was an R in there...). Most of the reactions of this pleasant day is this...

'FUCK I ARE NREVEOUS LOL'

Er, lol?

Anyways, once again I face ridicule as failure draws closer than ever before (well, maybe it's because it's only like twelve hours til results day). And once again, there is no nervous nerve in my body. No shaking in my boots - well, maybe it's because I haven't worn shoes for the past week - nothing. I don't want this to be shown as confidence. Fuck, I'm more confident pissing in a public toilet than I am in these results. I just see it as another piece of paper, with whatever mark I've had for the four horsemen of the apocolypce.. sorry, I meant papers (just to recap, I sat Chemistry 2, Music Technology and Physics 1 (resit) and 2). But then again, if I do manage to beat my estimations (which is a low C in Chemistry, a D/E in both Physics papers and an E in Music Tech), I'll be happier than a man who realised what his thingy was for (yes, for pissing).

Anyroad, nothing else to report, really. Still haven't beat [Prototype] yet (I suck, to be fair). I've only had one critique on my designs (merci, RuhBuhJuh). Learned the rhythm guitar to Decode (as I'm expecting people's reaction to be 'sad Twilight lover', I've never read the books, nor watched the movie, I just like the song, ya?) and actually tried to make a slap-bass version of That's What You Get (I've kinda gone Paramore mad in the recent days, I blame the Ignorance video...). Though, I hope that saying I figured out a 80's-esque riff on the guitar. It's a typical riff (like, you're expecting the changes like), and if I figured it out before I submitted my No Angel I'd probably have a different intro. But yeah, Muse has like implanted a supermassive blackhole (yeah... sad child) in my brain and now the only bass songs I want to learn are theirs. Pity that they're too fucking good for me... Man, how I suck. Can only scrape through Hysteria intro. Ah well, that's what YouTube is for...

Oh, and I've got a feeling that I'm not going to do good with my personal statement... or maybe I should take extracts from my blog... what d'you think?

Oh... Em... Gee....

Yes, it's that time again where I destroy a week with no posts (well, I think it was a week...) to destroy your digital peace. Have fun.

First 'oh em gee' moment. England just managed 102 runs ALL OUT in their first innings of the fourth Ashes test against the Aussies. Jesus. That's worse than... I don't know what's worse, frankly. Er, maybe if it was Kenya or Scotland bowling the English batsmen all out for half a century would be worse... but come on. That's humiliating. Aussies well won that match. England sorely missed Flintoff (which I wish they didn't... can't stand it when teams depends on one or two players...).

But now, it's level pegging (I think?) going into the final match. England definately need Flintoff on the field. And on form. The Aussies just need another draw to take the Ashes back (which, isn't it the ashes of the bails from the first match between England and Australia ever, or just of the Ashes?). My money's on Flintoff out for good now, though England might show more resiliance and not losing by a whole innings... I mean.... the shame of it... But then again, I think it was Anderson (he's a bowler, m'thinks) hasn't been out for a duck (aka no runs scored) in 54 (or so) innings on the trot. Now, considering Harmison (I think it's him) hardly scores any runs, that's very good, ya?

Second 'oh em gee' moment. It just happened. I've got my food. Yeah, I'm eating. It's chicken nuggets... beans... on toast. Yeah, I'm that cool. =). And at the same time, I watched Outnumbered. Ah, how I do find a conversation between father and daughter about why not to shout Muslim at a muslim in an airport is rather funny. Ah, nice.

Third 'oh em gee'. More like 'oh em fuckedy gee'. It's Bebo. It's rather annoying now. I only go on it to bloody decline group invites. I mean, after the seventeenth time I declined the invite to be added to 'Bebos Hottest Userzz 2k9', you'd believe they'd get the bloody point. But oh no. Grrrrrrrrrr. I DAMN INVITES TO HELL. =). Oh, is it just me, or on FaceBook there's always adverts on the side saying 'need a girlfriend?' and all that? Or if you're a lady-girl, does it say 'need a new boyfriend?' or something. It's pissing annoying. Grr.

Fourth 'oh em gee' of recent days. Watching the Foo Fighters on YouTube (because I R Kool, bitch), playing their songs acousticly. Bloody hell. Why can't I write shit like that? C'mon. Take this video...

Yeah, I'm a sad child. But then again, this song's amazing in acoustic form... though with a random scream in the middle. Everlong's also brilliant in acoustic. Why is most rock songs bloody good when you strip the amps, effects, drums, any digital EQ and just have one man and an acoustic guitar (admitidly, there's need of electric amplification, I mean, that place is huge...). It does help that the performer (in this case, Dave Grohl) is putting shitloads of emotion into the song. Man... If only I had half the talent Grohl's got...

Fifth and final 'oh em gee'... I can nearly do the intro to Hysteria by Muse on bass. Not only that, I can do it fingerpicking. FUCK YES. That is an accomplishment, taking into consideration that I could only just do 'The Joker' (the Steve Miller Band) adequetly fingerpicked a couple o' weeks ago. It's fair to say that I'm getting better.... but only just. I've got a whole lot to go if I want to learn YYZ (it's by Rush, fucking awesome bass solos in there). Ah...

Well, that's done for another post.

See you laters, dudes and dudettes... =).

Air On A G String...

Yeah, I really should stop posting with shaite titles.

Anyroad.

Hi.

I begin with a merry chuckle. Haha. There it was. That was to David Cameroon's swearing on national radio (well, I guess it was national radio...). I found it funny. Haha. There I go again. I mean, okay, someone who's in a real profesional job (or, as I think of it as, a media-driven job) and in a position he is in shouldn't throw a tawt here and piss there (well, to be fair I don't... well, not literally anyways). But come on. People who'll be like 'he should be punished' or something like that... it's two fucking words man. I'm guessing that if your reading my blog (and at most, that's three, four people...), you didn't find it offencive in the slightest. But then again, why should we? Maybe it's just the young-uns that found it as a normal conversation (but, with less swearing... or less talk about blowjobs... depends on what you talk about usually). I'll stop on TwatGate now.

So, that's my opinion. Wey.

Next, I've recently gotten into 'A Bit Of Fry And Laurie' again. It's well good. Look...

(oh yeah, I learned from the last YouTube video I posted here)...

Anyroad, that what I was about to say on Fry and Laurie was cut short by the mere story on the news.

Y'know the one, well, to put it in one word.... Zimbabwe. Yes, the joys of a government (supposedly) destroying a country for... well... I have no idea what for. How does it a positive thing for Mwgabue (how the hell do you spell his name?), to destroy his country, killing it's inhabitants just to stay in power? Wasn't Zimbabwe's land good for farming? And all the land holds is blood. Blood of innocent people killed by a regeim destined to self-destruct. Yeah, I know. I have less knowledge of the circumstances in Zimbabwe than I do in playing the claronet. But, y'know, 'everyone has an opinion'...

Also, someone stop David Dickinson from being on tellie. Please? I just can't be arsed for his drivel anymore... grrrrrrrrrrr. Sorry, since school ended I've watched some of his 'Real Deal' shows on daytime tellie (not on porpose), he keeps using that phrase.... grrrrrrr.

Anyroad, to the post title, recently I keep improvising on the G string of both Guitar and Bass. All in the same scale. Not sure what it is mind. But ah well. Nothing else to say about guitar/bass really. Apart from the fact that I'm failing at Hysteria on bass by Muse. I can do three quarters of the verse. And that's it. No more. Ah well. That's me.

I might go now. Spend three hours trying to sleep.

Baaiiii.

My End, It Justifies My Means. All I Ever Do I Delay...

Fuck the whole 'no posts for a while' thing.

I will warn you, I've nearly finished writing another song (well, it's more randomly pressing numbers into Guitar Pro and hoping they'll sound alright together), and there's a chance that I'll upload them onto the net. Yes, not only do I penertrate your monitors with my lifeless blog posts and skill-less photo and video edits, I must destroy every sense possibly and upload music I've 'created' for your eardrums to pound an enormous headache for you. Just be glad I'm not going to cook you dinner. If I did, it'll be a microwavable pizza.

Matthew Evans, a dude I hang around with in school (by the way, hi Matt. (=. ), requested that I should minimize the amount of Guitar Hero I should mention. And I agree. This'll be the last time I'll say anything Guitar Hero-ie in a while (well, until the fifth one's in my possession). Just to answer the thing I said in the last post. Finally got Guitar Hero III, and I managed to do Raining Blood on Expert. Four stars too....

Yeah, it's true. I haven't left my house since school ended. The furthest I've been out of my house is down by the steps to hand my sister the baby seat so then Ricky (if I haven't said before, he'd be my two year old nephew). It's basically the same order in the day for me. Wake up roughly sevenish, or eleven at the latest. Watch tellie until the news comes on. Go on a Guitar Hero. Get off the XBox. Sit around, watching tellie. Pick up the bass/guitar. Turn my laptop on to make layout/finish song/search something online (can only do one of those three right). Stay online until one. Try to sleep (which might be at two, as a guess). And during then I have something to eat either once or twice in the day. Oh, it's also sad that I actually kind of know whats happening on Emmerdale, Corronation Street and Eastenders. So, er.... someone help me? =).

Yeah, I'll post the link to the profile where I've post the midi files. Most probably it'll be on my Ultimate Guitar profile (if you can guess my username, then your almost as sad as me for having it). It might be tomorrow actually.

Oh, three pieces of trivia for you...

- This is my (I think) twenty fifth post. Yey.
- Most of my songs are in a Be Bop scale. Not sure the definition is of it is, but the C Be Bop scale consists of the following notes: C, D, E, F, G, A, A#, B, C. So, if anyone's got a definition of what a Be Bop scale is, then please let me know. =).
- Apparently, sperm speed is affected by the attractiveness of a woman... don't ask me how I know... I haven't done any sick experiments, okay?

Most probably I'll see you tomorrow (well, talk to you... well add text to my blog and hope that a few people actually read it).

Reasons - Why My Ex-Wife Left Me... Part One.

I just realised whatever font I put on as I write, it'll only get overwritten by the preset (which I believe is Tahoma?).

Oh, I'm going to be an arse to your pixel-absorbing eyes. I've thought of a series of blog postings that will end when I actually have a social life. If you haven't guessed yet, they'll be called 'Reasons'.

As you can guess, this first post will be all about the acheivements I, er.... well... achieved... in the past couple of days...

Point One - (se)X Box 360.

Yeah, it's the first point. Why, I hear your online-telepathy skills cry? Well, the first thing is that I meantioned 'achievements' in a sentence or two ago. Secondly, I've been on it much more than I have during school terms. Thridly, I've kinda gone overboard with Guitar Hero. Next point.

Point Two - Guitar Zero.

Yeah, I'm as imaginative with point names as I am with begining of sentences for the points. Anyways, today I completed Guitar Hero: Smash Hits on guitar. Yes, to add to the sadness, it was on expert. In addition, and the (sadly) high point of my day, I completed Raining Blood (by Slayer) AND Through The Fire And Flames (DragonForce-ery) on Expert. Fuck aye and a packet o' crisps. That might mean I have a good chance of doing those songs on Guitar Hero III, once I have a playable disk. But I'll be honest, the versions of Raining Blood and ...Fire And Flames are easier on GH:Smash Hits than on it's older brother. So, is that a hollow victory for me? Knowing not only that I completed them both (four and three stars to their respected songs) on Expert, but the fact that all my friends and everyone reading this will think I'm a sad child with no life?

Now, I believe you're getting why my blog post name is what it is...

Point Three - Breaking News.

If your wondering why it's called that. Let me tell you a little story. You know all about my work experience with ProMo Cymru, right? And that weekend up in Llangollen or some place like that (I'm not being funny when I say that, I just keep forgetting if it's Llangollen, Llandudno or some other place that starts with Llan)? Well, on the final night, we had a task. Y'know the one, when you have to make a parachute thing to help make an egg fall from a great height without it breaking.

All we had ('cause we were in groups, I had a good group, to be fair) was an egg (obvliously), some straws, sticky tape, newspaper, two balloons and the bag that held them all in. I had the odd thaught of sticking the egg into one of the balloons. Someone else thought about sticking the egg-balloon into another balloon. Then someone else thought about the whole interior design of the bag (it was lovely, we had a feature wall and everything). Then, before the drops, we had to think of a name. and bare in mind, during the last workshop all I did was doodle on a peice of paper and think of a shaite opening line for the 'seeking work' section for the Clic website (if you must know, it was 'The journey to your dream job begins with a failed application form'... yeah, it's shaite, I know). They boys who I was in the eggscapade (get it? Escapade? Is that even a proper word?) was thinking of some names, can't remember any really. Maybe 'Da Bomb' was one of them. I just looked at the contraption that we made, and had one thought...

'That's the reason my ex-wife left me'.

They laughed. At me, I guess. Don't blame them.

But, they went with it. And needless to say, the beast was stunned (er... got all Tenacious D on you then...) when we realised our egg was free to become my breakfast on a plate and not on the pavement (I joke, I joke. There weren't any pavements where we were really).

Point Four - On The Road Again...

The last thing to add to this 'Reasons...' post. Recently all I can think of when I try to think of an original riff on the guitar (or bass, don't forget that beast) could be classed as 'middle-of-the-road'. Y'know the type, the type of music Take That or Westlife would write...

Actually, I'll take the Westlife thing back, they don't write anything, all they do is sit on seats, singing. But, you have to give it to them, once the key change comes into play, they do make an impressive move from the seats. But forget Westlife... I wish I could...

But anyways, I just can't seem to get rid of this thing. And no, I don't mean Westlife. Actually, I do, kind of. 'Cause I want to write (good) rock songs, be that grunge, punk, bluesy, or (if it's possible) funk/soul rock. I'm not bothered writing solos, just good riffs that people might (at the least) think is 'not bad, for a beginner'. The only problem is, two or three of the riffs I have made up have this hippie-punk fusion to it, if you know what I mean. I can't write slow songs, and when I do they have a bad dose of Take That-ititus. Any blues riff I think of just sound like a pile of shaite. Er, I think I'm struggling. I may create a new MySpace to show people my 'creations', just because I want to have some feedback on what people like/dislike of my midi babies, and/or for people to hear what I've done, and write lyrics for them (I'd be so luck). I won't make a proper profile though. I'll wait until I actually start a band that'll make some music. Which will hopefully be before I leave secondary education for good. =).

Well, that shall be it for the time being. If you have been offended by anything in this post, then be offended. =). Trust me, there's worse things to bitch about than a simpleton blogging his way to certain critisism for more than his spelling mistakes.

- Fin. =).
