Because Text

I have discovered something rather normal about my educational life.

And that is the following - I have no imagination.

I can't sit down and plan out what I want to do when it comes to designing shit. Here's two perfect example, set in some rather boring paragraphs.

For university, I have two assignments. The first one asks me to create a 20-30 second title sequence that involves 3D animation, and another asking me to film something and add effects in to it, either simple shit like when someone reads a text on Sherlock or when shit gets real in Harry Potter. And no, I'm not using those examples to gain readers. If I did, I'd state that I'd need to add reason to Justin Bieber's music.

But the thing is, I have no idea what I'm doing. I know what to do technique wise, but for the actual content side of things? Fuck. I'm dead inside. Nothing but soulless examples of the chances of my failing this year increases each day.

Any idea I do have, though, ends up being balls-breakingly difficult or extremely costly. I wanted to do something for the 3D assignment where a sphere falls and breaks on the floor, then the camera focusing to the logo of a news programme. But apparently, you need a plug-in for that, one that costs over £200. Curse you, nameless plug-in.

I'm also kind of dreading my mark for Sound Technology. It's just dawned on me, that module is a smaller manifestation of my entire mathematical life. When I was younger, I was really good at maths. I was almost always in the top ten percent in my year. But with each year passing, I started to progressively worsen. From high 80%s in year seven to barely scratching 55%s in my GCSE year.

It's not that I found the work difficult, it's not. I've always liked maths, and always understood everything I was told, but apparently I can't put it into practice on the examination field.

The same with Sound Tech. If someone asked me to help them set up a Z5 so they could record audio using a boom, I could help them no problem. If they need help editing the audio and making it sound unedited, I could help. But there's always a little thing that someone finds wrong in your work, whether it's an ill-explained reasoning why x is 3 or a misplaced fade out.

It's not a nerve thing, before anyone thinks that. I have never sat down before doing an exam or an assignment and thinking oh shit, I know nothing of what I need to do to pass, shit. I've never done that. When everyone around me was revising the differences between Lithium, Sodium, Magnesium and Potassium while wailing I suck at life, I'll prepare for a life of mediocrity because I don't know which elements have D-orbitals, I was just sitting there, looking over my notes while listening to some Bob Marley.

Am I just a naive idiot? One who thinks he knows his stuff but it turns out that he's just a mediocre wanker with no reason to live other than to siphon light from everyone? I don't know, but that sounds extremely sad, so to happy things up, here's a picture of a hairless cat playing a double bass.

Baaaaaaaaaaaase.
Now, in other news, I'm still alive. I've done what feels like fuck all in every aspect of my life. It feels like I'm doing fuck all with university work, and everything in work is just time consuming (not that I'm complaining about work, it's possibly one of the best things to happen to me since my introduction to Final Fantasy X, and that just shows how much of an arsehole I am).

In other, unrelated news, I'm (still) doing my CLICvlogs as part of my university work. And you know what? I really like doing them. Recently, I've kind of lost faith in them, since we've done nine or so of them and nobody was interested in being a part of it, so it was turning out to being one man and his two vlogs. And if you have no idea what I'm on about, here be link to CLICvlog, and here's another YouTube link.

But yeah, for some reason unknown to me, the past few ones have been really fun to film and edit. Maybe it's because I also filmed a vlog for Sam where he calls Jesus an attention seeker, or maybe it's the most recent one, but they've suddenly become really fun for me. I'm not saying that they were getting boring, but I'm saying that CLICvlog is starting to fulfill one of its primary aims, which is to allow young people to share their views. Yes, CLIC is there for the textual side, and CLICplay is there for video, I just thought that it was a thing to get people who are part of CLIC to join together and create something that (hopefully) everyone would at least watch one or two from time to time.

And all that from a shit idea for a university assignment. I need a life. Pity that won't be happening since I just bought Pokemon Black and Mass Effect 2. Yeah, that's right. Fear my lack of sociability in the next few months.

In other news, I'm done. And I believe my dinner is too. I shall go get it, then come back upstairs to eat it in my room alone. Maybe someday I'll write a shitty Dear World about my relationship with food. Because everyone loves reading everything I say. I'm so awesome.

- Just in case you didn't get the last bit, that was sarcasm. Also, FIN. Why do I still write FIN at the end of these? Who knows, maybe I'll get sponsored by some FIN compony or something. Also, please say I'm not the only one who saw that picture and instantly thought of the last scene of Portal 2?

Blinded by Light

Before I start, I should admit that this will be a Final Fantasy heavy post. But not all of it will. Maybe.

First of all, an update on me. I am still alive, as you can tell by this post. I've just been abducted by the purchase of a PSP and the Clic residential in Welshpool. I'll link you up once the article is up on Wicid/Clic.

About the PSP thing. One of the only reasons for me buying Sony's portable system is to play the older Final Fantasy games. I've only played the newer ones. Well, that's a lie, I've played the first half an hour of VIII, but it bored me to death, though these days I'm willing to give it another chance. But yeah, so far I've only played X, XII and XIII, and ever since I played X I've wanted to play them all. And expensive task, but one helped by the fact that I don't spend much anyway. Win.

Anyway, I have a problem with something, and that is mainly with the fan base of FF games. No, I don't mean the whole "my fuck, VII should get a remake and not X" and all that shit, but the VII fans need to realise that it will virtually mean creating a new game from scratch, not just tidying up the bugs and the graphics ready for the HD age. It'll probably take Square Enix under a year to do that (give or take six months), while a remake of VII will take ages. Just look at how long Versus XIII has taken, and that's not a remake.

But it's not that, it's the "shippers". At first, I have no idea what "ship" means (and I have no shame in admitting that I only found out a few months ago), other than the boat type ones. I looked into it, and I realised it means when someone pairs two characters up.

I understand why they'd pair up some characters (like in X, if someone paired up Wakka and Lulu I'd somewhat understand, considering in X-2 they were married and waiting to have a child), but not any character whatsoever.

A perfect example is in XIII, and two characters in particular - Lightning and Hope.

To those who don't know the story (and I'm going to power phrase this part, and there might be spoilers if that effects you somehow), those two characters (as well as the other playable characters in the game) are hiding from the army as they are considered fugitives. Lightning, being an ex-soldier, tells those around her that they need to press on, so she does. Hope, who is somewhat in despair due to seeing his mother die in the events leading to the party to be fugitives, wants to get stronger for his future plans, thus he heads off in Lightning's direction and meets up with her.

At first, their relationship was more civilian and soldier, with Lightning just destroying everything in site while Hope throws down some magic support. But a few chapters in, and Hope's plans didn't go to plan, and from there you can see that the relationship between Light and Hope changing, but only in a sibling manner. I mean, some people may see everything between Light and Hope in the cutscenes and think "that's proof that they are meant to be". No it doesn't. That's like saying every time someone punches Snow, that means they want to bonk his hat off.

Personally, there is nothing between Hope and Light, nothing sexual anyway. I mean, if someone actually plays the game they'd see that. At most, Light (and to an extent, Fang) is more like a mother figure to Hope than a lover. I mean, look at the scene where Hope unexpectedly summons Alexander for the first time. Who goes to his defense? Fang and Light, but not in the "we've got to save the penis, for he'll create our babies" way. They are giving him advice and confidence while preparing to fight the eidolin, not to mention that nearly everyone treats Hope differently due to his age and his situation prior to the third chapter.

Also, it makes no sense that people link Sazh and Vanille together. It seems that when people partner characters up outside of the game, they just see any time where they are together in game, and that's the case with Light-Hope and Sazh-Vanille. Those two pairings are together for the most of the game. Why? Because that's how they split up during the game, and that's no reason to partner them up sexually.

On another note, FFXIII-2 is coming soon, and I have three problems (well, one of them is if SE decide to do it that way). The first one, is Serah's costume.

I mean, look at them. Her in XIII is on the left and the right is her possibly in XIII-2.

I don't know why, but I don't really understand why they could have just modded the XIII costume up a bit. Granted, it's not a brilliantly designed costume. Personally, I'd have made the skirt slightly longer and make Serah herself slightly taller (because in the scenes with her and Snow, it makes Snow look like a pedophile). But the things that annoy me about the new costume (and animations) is that for starters, she has a choker-type thing on her neck. It just looks awful. And the way she holds her weapon (when it is in sword form), it is horrible. It's next to identical as how Cloud held his sword in VII, which is horrible too.

And while I'm on the subject, I understand why they chose the roles they did for Serah (as they are the same roles as Lightning, her sister), but I can't understand why Serah's main role is a commando. Why couldn't they spiced things up a bit by making her a saboteur or synergist? Would have made things interesting in a party with a commando already (the new guy, Noel).

And now I'm on the subject of designs, I'm going to talk about Yuna from X, and how awful I thought her design was in X-2 (and this is the same problem I have with Hope in XIII and XIII-2).

Right, same thing again. Here's Yuna in X and X-2. Her in X-2 is the more revealing one.

Now, before anyone goes on me on ranting about the clothes, I'm not. Well, I am but not as much as I will be doing where her face is concerned.

I mean, look at the left one. Now look at the right one. Now, do the same, but this time concentrate on their faces. They are supposed to be the same person (albeit with two years difference), but they look nothing alike. Yuna's face in X is more rounded than in X-2, which is much more pointier and longer in general. Surely that wouldn't happen in real life? Nobody that I've known long enough has had their face change that much. And I don't understand why they had to "slut her up". Yes, I understand there was a change between the world she lived in between X and X-2, and the attitudes of her world had changed considerably, but surely faces stay the same?

And the fact that SE made X-2 for a sequel to X makes me worry about the story for XIII-2. At the end of X, Yuna basically loses someone she loves/feels very much for (depending on the region you play), while all that seemed to be washed away as she (in one of the endings) gets her man at the end of X-2, that makes me think that SE were thinking "give the fans what they want", and at the same time basically shitting on one of the best endings I've ever witnessed in a game.

I fear that SE will bow down to the fans again, and make Lightning and Hope a couple. Please, if you're reading this Square Enix, please don't let that happen. If there is a legitimate reason or way that they somehow fall in love or something, then that's fine. But not for them to just see each other after three years and then decide that they want each other. Oh, and while you're reading this, SE, bring back Fang and Vanille. But only in a legitimate way. Thanks.

Right, that's me done on Final Fantasy for now. And if you've read all that, bravo.

In personal news, I have an EEG examination this Monday to see if there's a chance that I have epilepsy. I'll get the results during October. That should be fun.

I also begin university for the second time this week coming. I have my induction on the Thursday coming. I think that's the twenty-third or something. I don't know. Anyway, this year I shall be learning about green screen stuff and maybe some mobile technology. Win all around.

So yeah. That is it. And I know my ranting is annoying and that, but yeah, it's just what I think.

Oh, and the title to this blog is the title of the battle music of Final Fantasy XIII. It's brilliant. Have an ear-gander here. It's the long version. Win...

Fucking gorgeous, that.

- Can't think of anything witty, so I'll end this with a FIN.

Dawn Of A Decade

Yes. I'm going to do a repeat of what I did this time last year with my Diweddglo post. How must you have waited eagerly for this.

As you know from the other thirty seven blog posts I've written this year, this year is what you could call a Wicid year. No, not in the manner as in "it's been a well ace year, wicked bruv," no.

Since the twenty seventh of January this year, I've been helping out with Wicid, and since late February I've been the sub-editor for the site. Since then, my year has been kind of run by Wicid. I've written shitloads of stuff for it, with about under a third of everything I've written going up to Clic. Since Clic don't allow any type of drivel up to the site, this must mean that I have something good about me when I write. Though, I don't really understand what is good about it. Fuck, I don't even think I have a good writing manner. I just write how I speak. That's why there are some terrible grammatical mistakes.

But, it has made me question something. Am I actually good at writing? I really don't think so. The only reason I have this blog is to vent out some opinions that I don't have the confidence to do in the real world. That's why I'm unsure about the Dear World series that I write for Wicid. Is there any point in me carrying on writing it when all it does it just give my opinions and feelings on the most pointless subject matters? No idea.

One thing that I've just realised is that I hate Winter. Why? Because it feels like it brings shrouds of doubt and pessimism into my life. I mean, I was looking at all the fireworks displays from countries that are already in 2011, and the only thing I can think of is "we were in an economical crisis not long ago, why are they wasting money on celebrating the entrance of 2010?".

And this brings me to another point. I need a new outlook on life. For the past few years, I've seen the world through monotonous eyes. Either it is, or it isn't. I can't really describe what my outlook on life is at this moment, bit all I can say for sure that even though I can see happiness and all that everywhere I look, all I can think of is the depression that grips this world, the hatred that fills it and the devastation that is left in it by bastards of it.

See? Now, I know that people may see me as a twat. A big fucking twat who belittles everyone that doesn't see the same way as I do. That is not true. I just have an odd view on life. I wish I can change, but I probably won't. Fuck.

In other news, the one thing that this year has shown me is that I bloody well want to start a band. I keep saying this, but I really hope that I actually do something happens with it. Currently, I'm either in one band or two. Not sure exactly what the situation is really, all I know that I'm at least in one band with Burt and Michael (who is my cousin on my mother's side, I'm only stating that since I have two cousins called Michael), and I am the bassist.

The first possible one is with Burt's lady friend as a vocalist, and the possible name of the band is something like MGBG or something like that. No idea what genre we're aiming at, mind. The last possible one would be Michael's current band, Levin Street. There's been some issues with the bassist and the singer. So, me and Burt's might fit in as a bassist and lead guitar respectively (I guess that the current guitarist will take a rhythm role and maybe a vocalist line).

So, I'm in a band (possibly) as a bassist. Now all I need is two more bands as a rhythm guitarist and a drummer (though I may be in another band with Burt and Calum in a band for metal-style music). Happy days.

Sorry that I cannot keep my blogs in a more straightforward manner, I have the need to explain myself all the time.

Anyway, one thing that got me thinking recently was my fellow blogger, RuhBuhJuh, and this post. He goes on about being average. One thing that got me thinking was the point about where he mentions that another fellow blogger (though, he doesn't blog much these days), Snefru7, and his natural ability with the guitar.

It got me thinking, and I know this might sound egotistical of me. Do I have any natural talent?

I can't answer that, to be honest. I mean, I taught myself everything that I'm novice at, which is Photoshop, bass guitar, guitar and drums. So, if teaching yourself something counts as a natural talent, then I might have a small talent. Granted, I taught myself all these at least a year ago. Hopefully I'd teach myself some more things this year.

But in every other manner, I have no talent. I had to work rather hard to get up to the level that I am at everything I taught myself (which is novice level). I used to be good at mathematics, and now that's gone down the shitter. Fuck. RuhBuhJuh gave me something that will hopefully stay with me for a while. And that is what, I hear you cry. Well, I know that I'm (less than) average, I just hope I can do stuff that will make my less average than others.

Right, I'm not going to bore you further. Well, just a little further. I gave myself four targets last year, which I failed miserably. So, I'm going to give myself some more targets for this year. Yeah, I'm sad. These are mainly for me really, like a documentation of my failure. Lovely. Ah well, here's the targets (well, hopes really) for 2011...
  1. Do well in university. That's a given.
  2. Get better at all instruments. I'll make a detailed list of what level I'd like to get at the instruments of choice.
  3. Improve my Welsh. Right now, it is at a shocking level compared to my fiends in my year at school. I want to keep my ability of speaking Welsh, fact.
  4. Save money. I haven't done too badly this year, I just need to do more.
  5. Do better when helping out with Wicid. All I've done really is write a lot of articles and edit some of the article in the back end. Maybe I could be more involved somehow.
  6. I'm not even going to bother having a 'could there be someone special in 2011' one here. Obviously there won't be anyone. Ah, forever alone. Ha.
Right, that is it. Another year of blogging done. Fuck.

But yeah, I hope you lot have a good year this year. See you on the other side.

- Last of the summer FIN.

Alone

Before I get on with this, this has nothing to do with loneliness. I couldn’t think of a better title. But, it does have a link to me…. Yeah, you thought you got away with not getting SoundClouded here… but you were wrong. MWAHAHAHAHA…

Anyways, this is my A Level coursework for Music Technology, called Alone. It’s supposed to reflect the lyrics, and their pretty depressing (lyrics can be seen by clicking the info thing on the side, then clicking the name of the song). And as you can hear, this isn’t really depressing… it’s rather happy. Which is different to the sound people would expect from me, since they kept playing Em9 (guitar chord, for those not in the know) since it (somehow) looks like the word emo. But yeah, here it is. Credit for the solo goes to Adam Hill. =].

A Level Music Technology Coursework - Alone (No Vocals) by CrazyDistortion

And that, my friends, links to what I actually wanted to discuss. And what many a seven- or eighteen year old does not want me to discuss.

Yes, that right.

I’m going to talk about sex.

Nah, I jokes. It’s actually about the exam results.

Cue said seven- or eighteen year olds leaving blog…

I shall continue regardless. I've only thought recently that there's nine, ten days left until I see the three letters of fate that will decide... well... my fate. If I see BBC, then I'm in. If I see anything below a C, then I will live out the one thing that I dreaded since sitting in one of those cabins in the old Rhydfelen.

But, what are the chances of the Atrium taking me if I've failed to earn 280 points? Not good, I believe. But, what do I really need? Do I need 280, or do I need 250?

During the AS year, I did ICT as a basic skills thing (it's sgiliau allweddol in Welsh, though I have no idea what the correct translation to English is, sorry). I have no idea if I passed or not. If I had, I would've had either 20 or 30 UCAS points. If not? Nothing. The only way I have any idea if I did pass or not is if someone else who did ICT Skills has passed. Why? This short course thing is decided by the fact that if one person fails, then everyone fails (or, so I'm told). But, if someone did get a pass in that course, then I would've banked 20 or 30 points. A thousand huzzah's and several packets of tuna to celebrate.

So, what does that mean? If I pass, it means that I now need 260 points to complete the 280. That's two C's and a B in gradespeak. That seems more realistic for me than B-B-C.

But, looking back, I can't see me getting anything better than C-C-D (ie roughly what I had in AS). Basically, I did terrible in the fourth modules in both Chemistry and Physics (earning an E and D in them exams respectively). I did rather well in the Physics practical exams (both the resit and the A level exams), gaining about four more marks in the resit and getting one mark from full marks in the second A level exam. That, when you see who is in my Physics class, is something of an accomplishment... Even in Chemistry, where I shake constantly and unsure of what to do next, I still managed a B for the AS coursework. That is pretty good. And considering that I seemed to do well for the A level coursework in Chemistry (I hope), then that might be my C and D...

But Music Tech might be either my saviour or my downfall. In one sense, I felt that my exams I sat this year went far better than the exam I sat in AS level. The coursework went so much smoother as well. No fuck-ups in the recording song. The MIDI piece sounded much better. Though, I think that the two songs I wrote for the two courseworks (AS and A Level) were, and I hope this doesn't sound big headed and obnoxious, pretty funky indeed. The song I posted at the top of this post was my A level coursework, while this song (a version of No Angel by Dido in the genre of 80's Rock, which I also failed in) sounds rather decent considering it was one of the first songs where I wrote a whole song...

By the by, here's the track.

AS Level Music Technology Coursework - I'm No Angel. by CrazyDistortion

The exams, on the other hand, they felt much better. They felt like I knew the stuff. But, in the A level Music Tech one, the computer buggered up more times than Elton John has. Ha. But, ignoring that cock-up, they went well.

And, that's where the problems begin...

Every exam that I have found remotely good, I did shite at it. Look at CH4 and PH4 earlier this year, I found CH4 (Chemistry 4) much easier than PH4 (Physics 4). But, I managed a D in that Physics paper and an E in CH4. See where I'm staring to worry? I've only found one (well, maybe two) exam(s) hard (not saying I found the others easy, I found the other exams better than shite). So, I will only probably do decent in those exams (funnily enough, both exams in question are the Physics exams). That's not a happy thought, to be fair.

And, sure enough, on the day I will see many people, including many of my friends, celebrating at the fact that they have gotten what they want. I, on the other hand, will probably hide my sadness with a mute smile, as I wonder where I went wrong. Or, I may join in with them. Who knows.

But, let me just add this for the joys of the Welsh language. Even if there is little or no Welsh in this video. But who cares, when it's a sketch from Mitchell And Webb Look? =].

Misconception

Yey, I spelled a long word.

So yeah, it seems like my last post is a catalyst in all but name... and meaning. But meh.

Yesterday, a word that would win you a round in Countdown, saw the dawn of a new age for me. Yes, my drums arrived. I would stick a photo up of them here for your eyes to gaze upon, but then again, you'll probably just look at it and think Jees Ga, it's just a drum kit... so to compensate, here is another image for your eyes to absorb...

http://chzhappychairishappy.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/129189464663924121.jpg?w=500&h=333

Yes, I do go on that site nearly everyday...

Anyways, considering I ordered the drums last Thursday, it took three working days to get here (they said it might take between three to seven working days). Not bad for the Germans, eh? I forgot to name the drum kit I ordered. It's the Millennium MPS-600 Kit. Three cymbals (one of them works as the hi-hat), one ride cymbal, four toms, a snare and a bass pad. Yeah. I also bought the double bass pedal, which is lucky since the bass pedal that came with the kit isn't the best one. Anyways, it's a decent kit, well worth the 650 euros (the drums bundle themselves were 555 euros and the double bass pedal was 95 euros). Yeah... sorry if that's not in your interests...

In other, more thought provoking lines, I saw a television advert. That wasn't the thought provoking thing, but what it had on it, was the thing. On the advert, or whatever it was, there was a question on it. What's your angle?, Okay, it was a fishing reference, but it got me thinking. What's my angle, my purpose in things, in life? Yeah, I do think too much, don't I?

Since it's going on for eight now, I shall break it down a bit now (Ahem... SoundCloud... =]...).

First of, in life. One, I'm an eighteen year old man-boy thing, who is most probably on the anti-social side of the spectrum. No job. No real prospects as of yet. No real talents that amazes others. So on the basics, I'm on the wrong angle. But yeah, at least I'll be sober enough to see my life out and have a clear mind on all decisions I take. Think what you will, but I think that's a positive. Not smoking's another one... I'll be honest I've just completely forgotten what I was going to write, so I shall stop here and allow the thoughts to arrive back on another day.

I will leave you now. I'm going to have a bang on me drums. =].

Hate This And I'll Love You.

I've got another confession to make. I'm your fool. Everyone's got their chains to break, holding you...

Yeah, Foo Fighters are good, yo.

Anyways, I'd thought I'd do a post. It's been ages since the last one. I did start one on the election, but I lost it. =].

But yeah. Next week's the final week (possibly) of my secondary education. Half of me is relieved, the other petrified. On one hand, I'm relieved that I won't be trapped in a cage filled with overbored kids who only recently discovered that they can open doors. Though, In a matter of days, I'm not going to have a a proper schedule for the day. I'm used to the 'wake up, get changed, go to school, learn things in school, catch bus home' schedule, and yeah. I'll also end up a loner, but that's a given. Hopefully I'll get into University, but my hope of getting B-B-C is looking grimer by the moment. Hopefully I'll scrape a B in Music Tech, but a B and a C in Physics and Chemistry? Fuck, not looking good...

In other news, I'm pregnant. Yes, that's right, I'm pregnant. And it's yours...

Oh, how I fooled you good and proper.

Nah, well anyways.

In other news, I have a new desire to learn to play the harmonica. Even though I had one when I was younger, but I never took it seriously. But now, it just seems like the next obvious step, kind of. But meh, I'll turn into a Jack of all trade, but master of fuck all. =].

And, and, and, and, and, and, and... yeah.

This is a really pointless thing. Sorry brethren. =].

Fuck it, if I think of anything else to write later, I'll add to this.

Hang on, does this mean I'm starting to have a life? I think, not...

- Don't worry, about a FIN.

Could You Be Loved?

Well hello, dear reader... well, not that dear... I haven't paid you yet.

I'll be honest with you, this is the first blog that I've done (well, currently doing) that is wireless. Yes, I've resorted to use the wireless function on my laptop for no apparent reason other than just to say I can go wireless. Beat that, you Ethernet cable users.

It is also a welcome return to late night blogging (and other people my age would either be being pissed or doing a nine-pinter at this time at night). Well, I say 'welcome', I'm passing the time between starting to feel tired and actually getting into bed. As of now, I am at five percent on the tiredness indicator, though with over half my battery left to go, this should be a short'un. No promises though.

So yeah, I've written two paragraphs, and now I have no idea what to write (well, type) about. Until now.

I've just realized two things. The first thing is that Firefox has a spellchecker and I believe it's set to US English, and not Welsh English.... Damn you, you hound of flames...

Also, I've started to have a sort of a don't speak unless spoken to idea on life. Y'know, it's like, I have nothing interesting to talk about (I mean, look at all the blog posts, nothing interesting... just bizarre...), so why talk? Why burden other people with useless information that is, well, useless? Saying that, it doesn't mean that I won't talk back if you start talking to me, it's just that I'm not the best conversationalist.

And, to be fair, that ideal has gone through to Life 2.0 (or, for the people who didn't get it, online life). It sounds rather pathetic, but I try to keep myself to myself on Facebook and all that. I delete anything on my wall that I don't like, or that says that I've done something. I've gone as far as to delete some groups that I became a fan of because I've saw no point in them. I mean, just because you sing out aloud to songs, doesn't mean joining a group with everyone else that does this makes you superior to everyone who doesn't do it. Or whatever the reason of joining the group is. If it's a way to meet new people, it's not the best way. I've just realized I'm having a rant on something pretty pointless.

Maybe you're wondering why this has made me type a blog up on it, maybe you'd rather have a verbal enema. But by the by, I shall continue.

For some reasons or other, there have been mini arguments - marguments, if you will. I don't know what about, neither do I care. But I tell you one thing, if everyone learned to shut up (or, at least thought about what they said before they said the think), the world would be a better place. Or at least a quieter one. But no, we live in a civilization where free speech entitles people to not think about what they are about to say.

Grrrrrrr.

Sometimes, I think it would've been better if humanity didn't progress so quick. Yeah, I know that it's been millions of years of progress, but it's because of this is where we at today. I mean, this age is the age where there's no real fight for survival, no day-by-day life threatening problems (unless you're one of these people that believe a bad hair day is a reasonable reason for committing suicide... and if you are, you need help). The only thing people (well, the majority of people, as it seems to me) worry about is getting high/pissed and getting laid.

Where as, if we were in the same era as the Stone Agers, there'd be a reason to fight, reason to fear (and if you think balloons and clowns are reasons to fear, it's not the same as having the fear that your family could die from an unknown virus or just killed in their sleep). I honestly have no idea why I'm saying these things. I'd be dead years ago if we lived in that lifestyle (and yet, you wouldn't be reading this), but it's like the further the human race progresses, the need to be aware lessens. If that makes sense.

But then again, if we did live in the Stone age type of life, I wouldn't have known anything about music apart from the fact that hitting things with sticks makes sounds. There wouldn't be no Bob Marley to listen to. And that's unheard of these days. Yes, the title of this blog is a Marley song, one of my favorites from him (the song is about God, I believe, either if you could be loved by the almighty one, though I may be wrong). And, in Redemption Song, 'Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, None but ourselves can free our minds...'. Don't ask me why I quoted Bob Marley. He was amazing. But those lyrics are true. Only we can free our minds from things. I'll be honest when I say I'm not sure what he means by mental slavery, maybe it could be peer-pressure, doubt, or anything that can hold you back or has an ability to create an air of fear and hatred inside of you. Whatever it means, I'm going to try to follow that.

Yeah, just be glad I didn't go the whole hog and quote Three Little Birds...

Also, sorry for the weird path of this blog, but yeah, this is the end. Smilie face.

Everything's Gonna Be Alright

Hello there, fiend/roman/countryman.

Did'cha miss me? Did you even remember me? *goes crying in the corner, then remembering that's an emo thing to do get back on laptop to carry on writing the blog*.

Nah, I joke. =].

So yeah, it has been over a month ago since I posted here last. Honestly? I had nothing interesting to write about, and still don't. But hey, if this help wail the hours away as Alan Titchmarch talks to people about what they are doing on his show, then happy days.

First off, it was the Eisteddfod a couple weeks back. 'Tweren't bad considering it was the last one for me in Rhydfelen/Gartholwg/Enter-name-of-school-and-get-a-free-pack-of-lard. Dafydd, my house, didn't win. Our fellow blues won I believe. But anyways, the one thing I am happy about is wining the 'Grwp Roc' contest (guess what grwp roc stands for... yes, its riverdancing...). I was the replacement drummer in the band 'Dienw' (because, we're so good, we don't need a name...). I was the bassist, but since the original drummer didn't have the time to do it, I stepped in as drummer. I suppose that's a good thing about being able to play more than one instrument... even if it's like that old saying of jack of all trades, master of fuck all. That's me. =].

But anyways, we were the last one's up on stage. And it went alright, well it did considering we won the thing. I made a massive cock-up when my right hand decided that the floor felt lonely and needed a drumstick. Luckily, the dude who owned the drumkit had left a spare pair o' sticks on the bass drum, so I continued on with the bangage, laughing until the end. The funny thing is, when I was talking to people about this incident, only one or two people took notice of this. I'm like, =\ (since I had no idea how to say it in words, so a smilie will do), since it was like a full three, four bars with no drums there. Ah well, imagine if I didn't cock up... Hehe.

In other news, I've kind of found the drum kit I want. Since it's going to fit in my room, an electric one shall be the order of the day. I think it's called the Alesis DM6 Kit. Anyone know if this is good or not? All the reviews that I've seen say it's a decent kit. But I are not sure...

Talking about news. You know Wicid? Well, it's up. The fourth county website connected to the Clic family, the newest one will be from Newport, oo-er. Not only that, I am the sub-editor for the site. =]. Yeah, beat that. I have written one article so far... It's here, bruv. I've uploaded a theme also, it ain't that good...

I have nearly finished a song on Guitar Pro 5, and to me it sounds really close to this (oh, look here, making the reader work out their fingers... er... =]). The song I have made for that Alone poem is nearly done, thanks to a pretty cool solo made by Adam (thanks for that... =]). All I'm going to do is record the distorted guitars (lead and rhythm), the acoustic guitar, maybe the bass, and the vocals. Such happiness in life.

Academically, I'm feeling that I'm on the subjects that could raise my grades by a fair amount. I know it's only getting harder, but I don't mind with the subjects and what they consist of. Yeah, boy. =].

I shall leave you go...

For now.... MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA.

- I don't wanna close my eyes. I don't wanna fall to sleep 'cause I miss you babe, and I don't wanna miss a FIN.

Paparazzi In A Box

Excuse the shaite title.

Because I've had a wierd song in my head for the last few hours. I shall tell you this thaught. Let me know what you think.

First off, and don't judge me here if you ain't a fan of 'em, I've had the chorus of Paparazzi by Lady Gaga in my head. No idea why, it's just stuck, not bad considering I've only heard it like three times. But, I heard it differently...

I shall tells you what I mean, like. Genuine.

I heard the lyrics from the song, but heard it to totally different music. The band, Alice In Chains, braught out the song Man In The Box. It's a good'un, apart from some part seem a bit off, but meh. The chorus section of that song (which, you can YouTube. I've tried to find a decent one but they are either terrible, cheesy or a Rock Band thing).

So yeah, I'm singing Lady Gaga songs to Grunge music. Normal?

Also, this...

Staying on the musical line of fire (see what I did there? Class). I've (kinda) learned another Beatles song (yey) on guitar. Drive My Car, baby. It's a funky song. Also, I buggered up at a section and found a new riff. Fuck aye.

On other news. There is no other news.

Happy days.

Well, it would be if the pissing snow would stop during the week and only come during the holidays.

Smilie face.

Untitled...

I'll be honest with you. I've started this post two times. And I couldn't even think of a fuckrad title. Ah well, who cares? I don't. I used fuckrad as a proper word. Do you think someone who uses a swear word coupled with a shortened word cares about titles? No.... =).

Anyways. As it's "christmas", I'll begin with today's happenings...

Rage Against The Machine, an american band who specialises in rebel music, are the christmas number one, beating the X-Factor winner Joe McElderry (wrote McReary jsut now... must cut down on Grand Theft Auto IV playage...) to the post. Hanestly? I'm glad RATM are on top with Killing In The Name (such a happy song title for the festive time of year), simply because I prefer it to The Climb (too middle of the road for me...). It's also a good thing that the makers of the group on FaceBook made a donations page for Shelter, raising about sixty thousand (I believe) pounds, with the addition of whatever RATM are donating too. Good on 'em.

And talking about Rage Against The Machine... Well, Morello anyways. His new band, Street Sweeper Social Club, has brought out a new song, Promenade. (Sorry, I can only find it on Ultimate-Guitar.com, no-one's YouTube'd it yet).

I tell's ya, it's some funkyass shit. And the video too. Fuck aye and a packet of Fox's Glacier sweets.

In other news, d'you remember the website that's going to happen that I'm helping out with? Well, recently they've made some designs up. I asked them could I do a design of my own... and this is what I came up with...

My logo idea...

RCT Logo

And the website design idea, thing...

Wicid Web Design Idea

As you might have guessed... the name they've gone with is Wicid. Don't ask me why. Anyways, the site should be live by January. Fuck.

Also in January, I have an interview with the University of Glamorgan. Woop. To study Creative Technology (Multimedia). And I have to make a portfolio. Great, I'm gazeeboed.

No other news on the other courses... but meh, I guess I'll have to wait 'till the new year.

So yeah, I shall leave you now.

- Om Nom Nom.... oh yeah.... FIN.

Oh, How I Want To Break Free

I've kind of shocked myself today.

I've known of Queen for, well, all my life. One of the first memories I have is watching their music videos on a compilation video that they released. The one's that stuck out mainly are classics such as Breakthru, I'm Going Slightly Mad and (my all time favourite Queen song) The Invisible Man. I've heard most of their discography, not all unfortunately. And, for some bizzare reason, it's only recently that I've understood how amazing the music actually is.

I've always known Freddie Mercury was an amazing singer and performer, but I've never really gone past his voice. Only once I started to learn the bass songs had I realised how great John Deacon was in the band, and Roger Taylor's drummage also. And only yesterday had I realised that Brian May actually wrote some of the classics such as Who Wants To Live Forever and I Want It All. Jeez, no wonder they've influenced Muse and others...

Crickey.

Pity I cannot find the bass tab for The Invisible Man... =(.

Anyroad, here's a weird video for you to watch, like an interlude for the next part. Epic song, dude....

Anyfriedchicken, I'm starting to want to redo cricket now... and have good ability in video editing. Why must I like such different activities? Ah well.

So yeah, today's been a Queen day, and it's never a bad day when it's Queen day (apart from one thing, which will happen everyday there's school, but hey, what can I do?...). Also, I've discovered that I can play Hysteria's bassline without looking. That shows improvement, or overplayment. =).

Er, nothing else to add. Not going to bore you with my life story... yet.

- I can't think of a creative way to sign off, apart from saying that I haven't got a creative way to sign off, also... FIN.

You Set My Soul Alight.

I've gone from quoting Smashing Pumpkins to quoting Muse in my blog titles. I suppose it's not a bad thing, eh?

Anyways, did ya miss me?

Thought not.

Well, I would've posted sooner, but I either couldn't be arsed, or - most likely - it's because the charger to my laptop's gone kaput. Thus making me use my parents computer for a few days, which is also making me void of a lot of internet time. Shame. Anyroad, I have to wait a good few days for a new charger. It's a sad day for the beating heart of my laptop, as it's only thirty four percent full.

But, on the plus side, I've been reconnected with Safari, and it's spellchecker function... someone remind me to find a good'un for FireFox, there's a good lad/lass.

So yeah. Nothing much happened this week. Though it was my eighteenth birthday on Monday. That's the only mention I'll say on it, as I can't see it as anymore than just another day. I might say more on it in the next post. Lucky you.

Besides that, nothing's really happening in school. I'm just plodding my way through Chemistry and Physics, while I feel like I'm a headless chicken in Music Tech. I've done nothing of worth in Music Tech, other than record the bass part for Adam's song and make up a bass riff that does not match the lyrics of Alone. Shite. I are fucked.

It kind of shows in what the teacher's predicting me... a C or a D. Yey, I'm not going to improve on my D for AS... apparently.

Er, oh yes. Not only that, but there's another INSET day this friday. And I must be the only person in school to appose is. We just had a week off for Jesus' sake... ah well, at least there's a possibility to see my sister in Carmarthen then.

And this, shall be goodbye... or au revoir, or whatever tickles your linguistical pickle...

I'm Not Stupid, I'm Not Smart, It's Like I'm Not Even There At All.

That, is me all over.

To be fair, that song is me all over. The song's 'You're Too Cool' by Gob, by the by. And apparently they're recording a new album soon. Oh yeah, I'm in virtual happiness. Not only the albums from Muse, Paramore and Pearl Jam came out this month, but another Gob album too. FUCKAYE. All that's needed is Rise Against to bring out an 'Unplugged' album and that'll make this year a good'un music wise.

Apart from the Black Eyed Peas song... the one with the words I'm so three thousand and eight, your so two thousand and late... oh na.... oh na.... I feel real sorry for the person who wrote that...

Anyways, how's it going?

Today's been... lets just say... a meh day. A day with two different halfs of the same coin. If that makes sense. And it followed the good, the bad and the ugly setting... but in reverse.

First, the ugly.... and I know you're expecting a photo of me, but the camera broke... so yeah. All I'll say is atoms for this...

Secondly, the bad... dinnertime, I was in a slightly pissed off mood (since the ugly setting happened), so I plodded up to Music Tech, where in the earlier lesson we moved the acoustic drums into the designated room for Music Tech (which is actually used for bass lessons). I just stayed in all dinnertime, and trying to play along with some songs on my iPod. The only things I know on drums are purely because of Guitar Hero.

Needless to say, I was bad. Because I couldn't hear the music properly (and because I misjudged the timings), I was all over the place tempo wise. But I soldiered on (well, it was a way of blocking out the silence in my life....sorry, went all Bill Bailey on your arse there) and managed to do rather feeble covers of some songs. The one I'm happiest about it Re-Education (Through Labor). Fuck yes. Guitar Hero finally helps people. Woo.

Lastly, the good... I will be getting either a new bass or guitar for my eighteenth birthday. Oh yes.

It's not going to be an expensive one, and by that I mean you can have basses that set you back well over three thousand smackers. Y'know the bass I want... it's a Thunderbird IV Goth. I don't know the difference between the normal Thunderbird IV and its Goth counterpart, apart from cost. Ah well, it's only a bass. It's not like people'll hear it, eh?

So yeah, a mixed bag today. Rather dreading tomorrow also. And I misspelled also about three times in that time.

Meh, this shall be the end of tonight's blog.

Maybe the next one'll be an amazing one, filled with twists, turns and scotch eggs.

Well, maybe no twists...

G'bye.

Breaking The Habit.

Well, what do you think of my new look?

Bet you thaught you'd never see the day when my blog was white, eh?

Anyways, school tomorrow, all three lessons also. Luckily I've got third and fourth off, meaning I have three and a quarter hours to think about doing something remotely useful in my academic life.

But will I? Most probably not.

And why not? Maybe it is because I have that hateful trait of laziness. Ah, I dunno. Maybe I'll find myself suddenly having a burst of wonderous inspiration and doing something worthful. But, I doubt that'll happen.

So... nice day?

Sorry, I'm just trying to avoid going to sleep. 'Cause I know it'll take me about an hour to actually sleep, and in that time I would have played a few games of solitaire on my iPod and have had rather disturbing thaughts on life again.

And that's got me thinking... is that what midlife crisis are? Just having days of being shite-scared of what life has in store for you? In that case... I'll be dead before fourty. Hope not. Then again, I'd probably'd rather that than the whole watching the world swirl ever deeper into the pit of destruction it has built itself.

Shit... I promised myself I wouldn't talk about anything deep. So I'll leave it there for now. Carry on.

So yeah, have you realised that I usually post a blog late at night? At least this one's different... so far. But for some reason somethings just catch my eye and distract... Oh look... a squirell.

And on another note... this time it's G#...

Forbidden Morality.

Yet again, I fail with blog titles.

So, it's a wednesday. The midway point of the week. Unless you believe otherwise. Anykerfuffle, it's the night of yet another party. Why do I know this? It's next door, technically. Why aren't I going? The whole drinking thing raises up again.

Besides that, Lowri's gone back to Carmarthen to conclude her years as a university student. Ah well, I just hope that she doesn't do shite and turn to become a footballer... like what Christiano Ronaldo is like (nearly wrote Rhonaldo... some Spanish type of Welsh county there).

Er.... struggling to find things to say really....

Er.....

I've left this post brewing for two days... so I'm back to forfill this post. Lucky devils, you...

I'm going to start with this...

It's a nice change in an album that's full of punkage. Appeal To Reason (Rise Against's fifth album) is amazing. Their last two albums (the other is Sufferer and the Witness) are two of the best albums I've ever heard, along with Perl Jam's Ten and a handful of others. I mean, this album shows that you don't need weed, alcahol nor lavish orgies with random people to make a good album. Another band I wish I could make music as good as... pity. Ah, the reason why I've posted that song in perticular is because that's the song I just learned on guitar (rhythm, mind, haven't learned any of the fills...). Pity I've only learned it in powerchord form. I can't really do some of the chords in that song. Ah well, powerchords shall be my savior.

In other news. There was a Chemistry expreiment today... in which I failed miserably. I would go into detail on the experiment, but all I remember is that I had to extract some alderhyde from a mixture. Cleaver.

Also, I think I've totally changed my idea for the Alone poem for Music Tech, maybe Hero Of War has influenced me a bit. Hope it has, it's an amazing song.

I also have my guitar back into full playability now, with all strings back to health. Woop.

Ah, I give up on this post... ignore the name... hehe, I had the Fame song in my head then... or, AntiFame...

Please ignore my name (infame).
I ain't gonna live forever.
I'll just sit here 'till I die (yey)...

Yeah, I wish I could write half funny things...

Ah well, bye bye m'love.

Death Of A D Stringed Encore....

Yep, no idea if the title actually makes sense there.

Basically, my guitar (well, my sister's guitar) has lost a string, a D string. Sob sob. And it's an Encore guitar...

So yeah...

Uneventful blog so far.

One question though... what's the weirdest music video you've seen?

For me... it's the new Rammstein video for their new song... 'Pussy'.

I would place a link here to the video... but if your parants or younger siblings aren't around... watch it. It's a funky tune. Just ignore the bandmembers banging some women... such is the joys of extreme music videos...

So yeah, it's one in the afternoon. How swell is that?

Not much else to say really. Muse's new music video's been released. It's not bad. Haven't heard all of it, just half. But I've liked what I've heard so far. Looks like Muse is doing it again. Woop. Paramore's new album'll be out next week (I think the twenty-nineth?), so not long now... hopefully the album'll follow Ignorance's vibe.

In other news. I have found my charger for my shaver. WOOP. Now all I have to do it charge the fecker.

Oh yeah, this past week was, what I shall call as the 'when's the next one?' week. Why? Z, your turn... sorry, shite joke there. Anycucumber, it's because on Thursday night, there was a party for the sixth form, and I stayed home, watching Mock The Week. Brilliant. Next day, I was the first to arrive at school. But as the trickles of drunkards arrived, the birth of the upmost dread came to be. Oh last night was SOOOOOO fun! I like drunk a WHOLE BOTTLE of J2O! I was totally gazeeboed!. Well, not like that. That's a major exaguration. But the idea applies.

But yeah, it wasn't as bad as I thaught it would've been, but then again the Chemistry class went to Cardiff Uni for some Chemistry learnage, so it wasn't as bad as other times. But that question always arrived. 'When's the next one? I wanna get ratarsed again'. Then the whole 'there should be one a month' suggestion appeared. Meh, not really going to comment on that. But yeah, since this year is the year of the eighteenth birthday, there's going to be a shitload of times when 'when's the next one?' will be repeated. Ah well...

So yeah, looks like the nex one might be roughly around the last week of October. I just hope that the week after's a half-term... I can only hope, right?

Back to something that will make you drone even further. GUITAR HERO. =).

Nah, only messing with you. I won't say anything about it. Apart from this, the next one should have Slipknot's Psychosocial as a track. That would be good, well I think that anyways. Do you?

Oh, look at me, asking my readers questions... how original am I?

This post seems short to me... so I'll make it that little bit longer with a video. And no it's not the Rammstein one. Also am I spelling Rammstein right?...

IT'S MOCK THE WEEK, BABY!!

=).

So yeah, goobdye!

- Finissimo.

But Can You Fake It, For Just One More Show?...

I shall begin with a bang...

BANG.

And yet, more bangage is needed...

So, watch this. I dunno why, I like it.

... Oh, how I wish I could do that...

Anyways, hello to y'all. Yeah, I hate that word too. 'Y'all'. Nearly as much as LOL, stoked and... the most dreaded of all... tummy. Well, any word that ends with '-ummy'. Tummy, mummy, dummy, and so on and so forth, if there's more. I mean, I guess it's okay to say them words to a toddler, but I'd feel a bit nervous if a doctor told me that I had to have loads of stitches in my tummy, and he had consent from my mummy. Man, they're like the worst type of words in the English language. Use stumoch (however you spell it), mother, and whatever the english version of pacifier is. That's all I'm sayin'.

On academic news. I've gone from borderline shit to extremely shit in Chemistry now, and nerly doing the same in Physics. In Music Tech, I've made alright progress on the Blondie song, I'm on the chorus part of all instruments so it's all good so far. Haven't done anything really for the recording task. For the compsition task, I've got a riff (well, chord progression), which sounds rather emo unfortunately. But I'm hoping to punk it up (or at least rock it up, so it matches the acoustic intro) for the choruses (or chorusi) and the other two verses. So yeah, the only course I actually feel like I'm going anywhere in is Music Tech, and I actually rather have the other two being better...

Seriously though, my mathmatical skills have gone down the toilet, but halfway down it had reacted with the water, evaporated, and managed to enter my body through my pitiful need of oxygen to live until the next time I have to go to the toilet. I don't know why. Maybe I'm subconsiously thinking something that's making me become shite, or maybe it's quite simply, that I'm shite at counting. Which is not something I want to admit. Maths has been the only subject that I've been consistantly good at since I was a baby. So, why's it turning on me? Or, should that be why is my brain turning into a mouldy pile of unwanted socks? Yeah, I'll go with that.

Maybe... maybe I'm secretly telling myself, without actually knowing I'm saying it to myself, is 'why bother?'. What's the point in doing these calculations because in a matter of mere dacades, you'd be like the big fish and little fish... in a cardboard box. And I know I've talked about it in a post (if I remember, it was more of an essay...), but for nearly two months now, I've haven't had the subject out of my head. I had like, at least four different moments of mini panic in school.

The most recent one was in Physics. We had Brooks (which, I think, is the best Physics teacher there, but to be fair, it was either her of Humphreys... no competition really). She was on about what monoatomic things where (well, giving a quick explaination on them anyways). And I just thaught, what if we all were electrons, speeding our way around the neuclius in every direction possible? What if we occupy a miniscule section of some alien material? ect... Then I just looked up, and I was slightly breathless. I looked at my hand, but then moved it from my sight, 'cause (somehow) it resembled my mortality'. Random thaughts came to my head. Why are we here? What's the real purpose of life? What songs am I going to play on Guitar Hero when I get home? Nah, I lie about the last one. But still, I'm really scared by this morbid fascination (well, not fascination... but that's the only word I can think of) of death and the afterlife.

Just now, they said on the news that some cook died at the age of sixty-odd. I thaught shit, I'm over a quarter of that age... Michael Jackson wasn't in his sixties when he died/got killed/faked his death (options are depending what you believe, oh and correct me if I'm wrong on his age). And just now, they've got news on the murderer of an eighty-odd year old woman. Murder. How heartless must you be to take another person's life for no reason whatsoever? Even when they've done something major, most of the time it doesn't mean people have the right to wipe their prescence of the face of the earth. But meh, how am I going to stop mass geniside... I dunno. At first I thaught geniside was the murder of genitalia...

So, if you're in school, and you see me looking like I'm thinking about something, there's a good chance I'm thinking about life (or another thing, which I thaught would've gone once this school year started.... more fool me...). Actually that's made me think about something. If you read this, tell me what you think? Either in a comment to this post, or to me in person/MSN/e-mail/smoke signals. I want to know if I'm the only seventeen year old to think this. Most likely I am. But hey, I'd like to see what other people think about what life is, if you think about it often, y'know...

Oh, by the way, I know most people joke about me being emo, with the whole cutting my wrists routine... I just like to point out that I'll never kill myself. And I've never said anything truet than that.

I'm off now... but before I go... a question...

Boris Johnson, true or false?

- Fin.

It Started With A Kiss.

Er. Actually it started with a C power chord... but it didn't have the same pulling factor to get people to read the post. So if you've been fooled. HA!

Anyways. The first full week of school has been, went and taken 168 hours of my life. Felt like every Physics lesson with Humphreys added another three hours onto that. And Charlie's lessons added at least an hour also. So it felt more like 171 hours. But hey ho, lets go.

Finally, the Music Technology coursework's been published yesterday (that's friday to the people who could read this in the future). To be fair, it's not what I was hoping...

The first task, is (to put it simply) to recreate a song in midi form, matching both rhythms and sounds to the original. This time we've got a choice between Superfreak by Rick James or Heart Of Glass by Blondie. I've gone against the majority of the class and decided to do the Blondie song, simply because I like it more. Lovely. I'm just hoping that the song doesn't turn out as annoying as what Tainted Love (last year's coursework) ended up as (Living End's version of the song's my favorate version. Especially with that bass).

Task number two, is basically a carbon copy of what last year's was. This time we have to record a performance of a song that lasts between three and five minutes. I'm toying around with the thaught of playing with this song... and this time, I've embedded the video into my blog. Go me.

I'm sorry that it's a Guitar Hero one. And no, it's not me playing it. I can get 100% on this song, and is it just me or this version (amercain) is different to the European one? I just remember it differently, well that might be because it's on Rock Band 2 as wel. Ah well, at least this shows what the song is. I would've stuck the original music videeo, but the only one I can find didn't let me embed it. Any-enter-something-funny-by-here, about Music Tech. At least eight tracks have to be recorded using microphones, with at least twelve tracks overall. Four of the eight microphone tracks have to be either orchestral/acoustic instruments or percussion. So I've gone with the acoustic one...

And, if you've heard the song before, there aren't really any acoustic intruments there. That's where the joys of changing clean electric guitars to acoustic guitars come in. One down, three to go. Then an idea came into my head, what about either a piano or a harp for the intro? So that's what I'm going to do, the harp for the intro riff, with the piano doing the thing in the second verse part. So that leaves me with one track in need of acoustic fillage. If using acoustic drums are acceptable, then I'm fine, but I doubt that'll work. So, the only thing I can think of is a fidle-type intrument to play the same notes as the bass while the piano does it's thing. Woop, four instruments elegible for the song. Joy.

Oh, rambled on a tad that last post, sorry for that.

The last task is basically a composition task. We have a choice of three briefs this year, but that's another story. Ahem. The first one is basically do six short songs (or shongs) for a cartoon. The second one's basically compose music for a piece of poetry (which they chose a rather emo one, regretably), while the third one is to use samples to potray your feelings towards Obama's presidency. I've gone with the second one. Which, everyone in the class'll call me emo more often. I've actually got a vocal line for the song, only if we're allowed to change the order of the song. If not, I'm fucked.

End of rambling man. Ah, good link to my next part...

Yes.

Guitar Hero 5.

A thousand percent improvement on what World Tour is. Graphics have become more realistic, more sleek. Gameplay's roughly the same, but the charts seemed to have gotten more fun to play (Smells Like Teen Spirit and Song 2 are pretty funky to play when the volume's up). Even the randomness of Elton John and Marvin Gaye's addition to the setlist's added a nice alternative to the whole guitar-driven list. But the best feature (so far, I've only had it for a couple o' days), is the GHJam feature. Basically they've added backing tracks, and you can just go nuts on your instument, which I think is pretty cool. Maybe you could just have that looped while you jam to it on real guitar. Ah, how I bet you've missed Guitar Hero parts of my blogs...

But, talk about bullshit. Guitar Hero:Van Halen's coming out. I saw this offer. It's a good'un too. Basically, you get GH5, you get GH:Van Halen for free. That's fourty quid for two new games. Jesus! I instantly went to get the offer...

Until... I read the T&C's...

Good for US only.

WANKERS.

That's just bastardish.

Ah well, that's enough for Guitar Hero talk. I shall refrain from blogging about it for a while, hopefully.

So, that's the end of this post. I shall end the post with some wise words from the mouth of Frankie Boyle himself...

I'm not a dwarf, I'm a lesbian

Reasons... "Why" Is The Only Word With No Vowels.

I believe it is, anyways.

Y'know, the fact that all vowels are a, e, i, o and u, so technically, y's the other thing.

Oh, this is just so I can boost the 'Reasons...' group of posts. Sorry to deprive you for time...

Anyturnip. It's a Wednesday. Coincidently, tomorrow's a Thursday, and the begining of the week countdown to the first Parti Bondio of the year. Yeah, you've guessed that I'm not going to go.

There's no point really. I don't drink. Don't dance. So, in a party situation, I'm the broken pensil of the group. This is also the time I rather dread the fact that everyone'll talk about the party (well, next Friday, after the party happened). Y'know, most of the blokes will brag about how much booze they downed in two hours and still managed to headbang to S Club 7. Many other people just repeating the same phrases for the next four weeks... oh, I was sooooo drunk that night, or I hope there's another one soon, I wanna get pissed again. Them only being two of the infinite quotes from the people who went.

Laughing. A bit like this... AHAHAHAHAHA THAT WAS AN EPIC FAIL AFTER HE DRANK THAT CIDER. Or something along those lines. I'll be just looking around at different people, with a dim smile on my face, having no real interest on the goings on of the previous night...

Yeah... such a happy aura for this post.... anyways...

I'm not saying they shouldn't orginize these things. Nor am I trying to tell people how to lead their lives. I'm just going to say this, just because you've downed a bottlesworth of vodka, or someone tipped Guinness onto your brand new top that you baught specially for that night. And for the fact that I don't drink...

Come on... it's fun when you're drunk!!

Sorry, I can't see how being so pissed that you fall down on the pavement and sleep. Well yes, that doesn't really happen in these things, well not to my knowledge anyways. I simply cannot see how a beverage that destroys so many people in this world can make a night amazing. Maybe I'm being overdramatic in this subject (well, I can't think of a better word than overdramatic), but the only thing I can do, while the matter of alcahol is on the agenda, is think of all the negative scenes that are implanted in my head...

Y'know the ones... one person making a complete arse of themselves. While others are getting it on with people they've always detested (say, as an example, someone sees the closet gay ruthlessly snogging the well known male homaphobe). Not to mention some people who take it too far, and either get sent to the cells for the night, pass out or worse. Or, what I believe what I'll be if I ever had a drink, the extremely depressing drunk who drowns his thoughts and money.

'Cause, correct me if I'm worng, alcahol has a boosting effect on the body. And I know, that naturally, I'm more on the negative side than the positive. With alcahol, that negativeness will grow with every drink I consume. Also, there's been an image stuck in my head ever since I was young.

In that image, I saw myself. I had messy, short hair, while wearing old, scruffy clothes that looked like they were found in a skip (or baught in ASDA, up to you where like). Holes in my shoes, just sitting on a wooden stool, drinking the money I managed to get somehow. Basically, a total mess. I can't avoid this thaught. The more I think about it, the more detail is there, and the more hope I have that the image of such vomit-inducing nature will never be a reality. You're probably thinking that I have an odd way at looking at life. Well yeah, I do. And I'm glad I do. So I'm in the minority (in school, anyways) that doesn't want to drink. Joy to the world in the fact that there is a minority. If that sentence even makes sense.

Anyways, in other news. Muse's new album has been leaked online a week before its official release. But then again, I don't think there's any album these days that hasn't been leaked in one way or another. Either they've placed the full album on their site, forgeting that many know how to stream and save the audio files. Or someone's managed to get a copy of the CD, and shared it with the world. How much d'you want to bet Paramore's new album's going to be leaked online...

And lo and behold. Time has become the old enemy once more, and I must leave you with a riddle. What will happen when Pinocchio says my nose will grow?

Yeah...

An Ode To No-One.

For some reason, I've gotten really into lyrics, of other people's creation. My post title, I believe, is a song by the Smashing Pumpkins, on the 'Infinite Sadness' album (the same album as 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings'). So yeah, that's the blog title today.

I was going to write something about death, 'cause for some reason it's been on my mind since about a week ago, but since it's going on for ten, I don't want to start typing about it (well, I was going to say talk about it, but you can't hear my voice... at least that's a plus side for all you readers...), because if I do, it'll be on my mind all night and I won't be able to sleep for ages. Y'know, my brain's a bastard like that... Anyways.

This has turned into a picture post now. I would've said 'picture perfect post', but what is perfection?... shite, does anyone really care?

By the by, I shall carry on. I've done two desktop backgrounds (or wallpapers, for you hip old-schoolers who play solitair on their Windows 98's). So, here's the first...

CrazyDistortion Gone Blueish Thing

One thing, don't ask me who the girl is in the background, I can't remember myself. Just found the image on a site and thought about editing it, and finally did when doing this image. This is maybe the most 'blue' image I've done. Y'like? =).

Next.

Welcome To Hell Mk I

Yeah, such a happy thing. I only did this in like, an hour or so. And it shows. Anyways, if you're interested in how I did it (and, I'm just guessing, you aren't), it's basically feckloads of overlayed wall and paper textures. Used some brushes for added grunginess. That's what I do on PhotoShop. Grunge. 'Tis my speciality. Well, it isn't really grunge... just an attempt on it. No idea why I put 'Welcome to hell' on it though, I just thought about it while looking on Abduzeedo, for a lark.

Oh yeah, if you want the full size one, click on the image. It'll take you to my Flickr account. There's only three images on it so far (these two and one of Hayley Williams). Should use it more. I also have DeviantART, but a link to that is on the side where a linke to my RedBubble, MySpace and all that shizz is. So yeah, feel free to critique me. Would be nice, like.

Oh yeah, to dive into infinite sadness further (what a link to the title of the post, hehe), I've got the Ashes Cricket 2009 game. Woooo. I'm pretty shit at it, only managing 100-odd runs on the first go, and losing to Bangladesh (yeah, I was Australia for that go... man, I'm crap). So yeah, must work on that game...

Talking about games... there's a news piece on Ultimate Guitar...

'Kurt Cobain: Your Newest Guitar Hero Character'.

So yeah, Cobain's the second dead person to appear on Guitar Hero, alongside Johnny Cash in Guitar Hero 5 (Jimi Hendrix was the first one, on Guitar Hero World Tour). On that news piece, there are hundreds of different comments on it. Some in favour of it, believeing that the inclusion of Cobain into Guitar Hero 5 will be benificial to Nirvana in a way to spead the bands music further into people's knowledge. While other people believe it's a disgrace, believing that they should leave Cobain to rest in piece, or thinking this is a way for Courtney Love to earn more money from his name, or explaining that Cobain was against this type of commersialism. Other people were saying that he doesn't deserve to be in it, since that he wasn't the best guitarist.

And yes, that last sentance is true. Though, Cobain was a far superior lyricist. Lithium is a good example of it, in my opinion. So is Come As You Are, and Rape Me... But then again, those are my opinions...

Anywotsits, while people were saying all those things about Cobain's inclusion into Guitar Hero 5, one thing they were pleased about. Matt Bellamy of Muse will be in it, along with the song 'Plug In Baby'. Yeah, it's a good thing, though, I think it would've been better to have all bandmemberes in the game, alongside a song deemed 'harder' in the Guitar Hero ranks. But, that, as they say, is that.

I must dash. Well actually I've got a bit of a beard, but hey ho. Lets go.

PS - Happy 17th birthday to RuhBuhJuh for this Monday. Have a good'un, eh? Hehe.
